These versatile wipes are having “a moment” right now. Agua de Colonia is Spain’s answer to 4711 and at the heart of the range is an uplifting, unisex citrus scent. But because it’s a cologne rather than a fragrance (the latter contain a lot of ‘parfum’ or essential oils) it has an unusually high alcohol content – far greater than the 65% needed to dissolve fat and the external lipid layer of the coronavirus. So these sterile, single-use wipes – and indeed the cologne itself – can be used to sanitize hands or surfaces. Each wipe is about the size of a credit card so ideal to carry in a purse or wallet. Normally used to dab and refresh the temple, neck and arms to cool down on a hot day (or on public transport) now their hidden benefit is coming to the fore.
Agua de Colonia is the name for the cologne from Alvarez Gomez, it is Madrid’s most historic and well known fragrance house. The wipes have a classic citrus scent this scent combines extracts of Lemon, Spanish Lavender, Geranium and Eucalyptus with essential oils of Rosemary, Thyme, English Lavender and Bergamot. This composition of the cologne makes this a refreshing scent with a soft smell. The Refreshing Tissues have been infused with Agua de Colonia.
